研究業績
研究分野活動
これまで、ペットの代わりとなるパートナーロボティクスシステムの実現のために、センサーネットワークの構築やシステム開発と、人の行動計測と行動認識に関する研究を進めてきました。収集した行動ログに対してデータマイニング手法を適用することにより、ユーザーごとにモデルを構築し、各ユーザーに適したサービスの提供をするための研究を進めてきました。これまでの研究は、主に高齢者のためのアシスタントシステムのデザインでした。例えば高齢者の健康を維持するため、モーションキャプチャーにより運動支援や生活支援システムの開発、生活リズムの取得や分析に関する研究などが挙げられます。支援システム は実際に高齢者が使えるように、分かり易く、かつ直感的な操作方法が可能なユーザーインタフェースの研究開発も行なってきました。
研究課題
これまでの研究では日本人を対象としたデータ収集を行ってきましたが、次の研究課題は、日本人に限定されず、より一般的なパ ートナーロボティクスシステムの研究を行いたいと考えております。これまで開発してきたユーザーモデルは、課題解決のために様々な国の高齢者のデータを収集し、学習する必要があります。さらにその有効性を確認するために国際的な環境で評価されることが求められます。まずは日本に近く日本と深い関係にあり台湾でのデータ収集から始め、徐々にその範囲を広めていく予定です。現在の高齢化の問題は世界共通の重要な課題の一つです。多くの先進国が物質的には豊かになり、より精神的な豊かさを求めています。本研究成果はそのような高齢化に伴う国際的な社会問題に対して一助となることが期待されます。
